All Summer, in sky above campus

UCC river walk

8.    mallard
UCC river walk

9.    black headed gull
Regularly on UCC river walk in Winter

As black headed gull, scarcer

11.    herring gull
Occasionally rest on campus lamp posts

12.    grey wagtail
Regular, along UCC river walk

13.    pied wagtail
Daily, all over campus, particularly short grass and student centre square

14.    robin
Daily, any and all trees and bushes on UCC campus

15.    blackbird
Daily, any and all trees and bushes on UCC campus

16.    song trush
Daily, as blackbird but not quite as common

17.    mistle trush
Daily, at least one nesting pair near river walk, occasionally group to feed

18.    redwing
Extremely scarce in the Winter in UCC, only 3 seen, likely a lot more around campus

19.    wren
Daily, seen in all trees and bushes on campus

20.    dunnock
Weekly, always present but rarely seen, likes to hide

21.    house sparrow
Scarce, occasionally seen feeding on crumbs...

22.    blue tit
Daily, nest all along river walk, particularly common around the old walls

23.    great tit
Daily, about 5 pairs nest on campus, again near old walls

24.    coal tit
Weekly, can occasionally be glimpsed in UCC trees, usually pine

25.    long tailed tit
Daily, large flocks can usually be found somewhere on campus

26.    greenfinch
Weekly, at least one pair nesting near river

27.    chaffinch
Daily, in most tree areas, particularly near the main entrance

28.    goldfinch
Only seen 3 or 4 times, roam much the same areas as chaffinch

29.    bullfinch
Scarce, seen only twice by car park

30.    magpie
Daily, can be found in most areas

31.    rook
Daily, most areas

32.    hooded crow
Daily, most areas

33.    jackdaw
Daily, most areas

34.    goldcrest
Weekly, can usually be found with perseverance, generally cantered around pine trees

35.    chiffchaff
Seen weekly, heard daily, generally in the tree tops

36.    blackcap
Occasional sighting near river walk and car park, heard more often then seen

37.    starling
Common sighting near the buildings

38.    treecreeper
Near stone buildings and staff carpark, had a bizarre influx of nesting pairs (counted 5) at start of season which then disappeared. I suspect human intervention.

39.    Pheasant
Only once, exploring the river bank

40.    Great cormorant
Weekly, likes to fish in the river, never on bank

41.    Grey heron
Occasionally wanders to the UCC area of the river

42.    Willow warbler
Heard more often than seen, occasionally seen in the tree tops

43.    Lesser black backed gull
Like herring G, occasionally rests on lamp posts

44.     Barn swallow
Low flying over the river
